Science meets practice practice meets science
Official Congress languages: English and German (Simultaneous translation)
Day 1
Day one of the International CAMLOG
Congress 2008 covers basic scientific topics
such as principles of bone and soft tissue
healing mechanisms. A special emphasis will
be on the guidelines for aspects of white and
pink esthetics since esthetic results are more
and more in the focus. On the other hand, risk
factors are also an important issue when it
comes to long-term maintenance of highly
esthetic restorations.
Periimplantitis is a fact and has to be considered
in treatment options. The latest information
on therapy concepts as well as what and
how to do in clinical procedures to achieve the
best esthetic results in various indications will
be presented. The practical management of
hard and soft tissues including microsurgery
will be demonstrated during the first day. As a
second part of the session, short scientific
presentations will report on the camlog
foundation-supported research projects and
their results. The last topic deals with an important
issue regarding esthetic results in implant
dentistry, preservation of the extraction
socket as a prerequisite for an optimum and
predictable treatment outcome.
Another highlight of the first congress day will
be the CAMLOG Party with entertainment,
music, excellent food, good party mood and a
lot of fun.

Day 2
The second day is reserved for the aspects of
bioengineering, hardware design and its clinical
relevance for implant procedures and related
results. Other important topics are immediate
loading and immediate restoration.
Clinical procedures and their outcomes will be
presented. A special session will be one of the
highlights of the morning part of this day. In
the afternoon, the poster award and the
report of the President of the camlog foundation
will lead into the "Team approach - key
to success" session where dental technicians
and dentists will present their view of team-work and demonstrate clinical cases together.
A panel discussion will finalize the presentations.
Practical marketing aspects for successful
implant services will round off this part of the
congress. The question of prosthetic retention
will be addressed in a comparison of advantages
and disadvantages of cement-retained
restorations. The return of the 'time-honored'
classical double-crown technique in high-end
implant dentistry will be another hot topic.
New imaging techniques supporting the
advancement of implant dentistry will lead
into the final presentation of guided implant
placement. Procedures and experiences will
be presented, before the International
CAMLOG Congress 2008 will end with the
closing remarks.
